Happy New Year! Whether you've been with us for years or just started your journey, we look forward to a year of health, love and success together.

As we reflect on the past year, we want to say a big thank you to all of you. Here's a look back at the moments that made it special.

A year of family celebrations

This year, we celebrated our anniversary in Santa Barbara with a fun family party at the Carriage Museum, complete with a photo booth. Over the summer, we gathered at Manning Park for our Summer Promotional Picnic, where students were promoted, families spent the day together and our annual kick-a-thon raised funds for Storyteller Children's Center.

Our Kickin' Kids Summer Camp was awesome, too. Summer camp gives kids a chance to train, play and build friendships in a way a regular class schedule can't always match.

Training and giving back

We hosted master seminars with Master Randy and Master Yuri, which gave our students the chance to learn from experienced martial artists from outside our own dojo.

In November, the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade brought our families together to feed families across Santa Barbara County. And our black belt tests this year were truly inspiring.

Why we look back

We believe reflection is part of training. On the mat, we review the techniques we've learned before we add new ones. The same idea works for a whole year. Looking back reminds us how far we've come, who helped us get here and what we want to build next.

Every moment on this list happened because students and families showed up, volunteered and cheered each other on. The year belongs to them.

Thank you again for a great year. We look forward to many more with you.
