Absolutely. The Confident Kid Program is designed for beginners — most kids start with zero experience. We teach everything from the ground up in a warm, supportive environment.

What ages is the program for?

The Confident Course is built for kids ages 6–12. If your child is just outside that range, book a free trial anyway and we'll let you know whether the program is the right fit.

What happens at the free trial lesson?

Your child joins a real class, meets Master Melodee, and experiences what training is like — while you watch. Afterward, we'll talk through whether the 4-week Confident Course is right for your family. There's no pressure to enroll.

What's included in the $249 Confident Course?

Everything: an official martial arts uniform, two classes per week for four weeks, four Saturday life-skills workshops (dealing with bullies, making friends, becoming a better learner, and amazing martial art skills), and a parent mastermind with strategies for continuing the growth at home.

What are the Saturday workshops about?

Each Saturday covers one life skill: how to deal with bullies, how to communicate and make friends, how to be a better learner and get better grades, and how to do amazing martial art skills. They're interactive, age-appropriate, and fun.

What is the parent mastermind?

A guided group for parents to discuss strategies, ask questions, and learn how to reinforce the confidence, discipline, and respect your child is building — at home, long after the course ends.

Where are the classes held?

Classes are held at the Santa Barbara Dojo (122 E Gutierrez St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101) and the Goleta Dojo (177 S. Turnpike Road).

What if my child doesn't like it after the trial?

That's exactly what the free trial is for. If it's not the right fit, there's no obligation to enroll — and no hard feelings. We want every child in the program to be excited to be there.
